Does anyone else have things they don't watch/read/play precisely BECAUSE they'll love them and they don't have time for a whole new fandom right now? In my case, Persona 5, Killing Eve, The Untamed, Good Omens, and Nirvana on Fire are the big ones at the moment.

Yes!!! So much yes. It’s like I can tell something will turn into a full-blown hyperfixation and avoid it precisely because I’m not finished with my current fixation / don’t have the capacity for it, etc. I always thought of it as an ADHD thing but maybe not? Either way, Good Omens is on my list, too!

I find myself thinking "that looks interesting, I'll have to remember to watch/read when it comes out on DVD/paperback" and then forgetting, because by that time fandom has been and gone! Which is why I am currently obsessed by season 1 Lucifer, but not writing yet.

Good Omens TV is like the 1995 Pride and Prejudice. Give yourself a spare day because it is impossible to just watch one episode.

When I first got into Guardian, I didn't have bandwidth for much else and stopped watching Kdramas and some other things, but in general, there is so little that pings me fannishly that I can happily read and watch stuff without worrying about being derailed. :-)

I have definitely had these. I think I've been saved from The Witcher and potentially Star Trek in various incarnations because I fell hard into Good Omens. I figure some you win some you lose.

I do this all the time. I know how I get. There are video games I refuse to try even once because I know what will happen. It's better not to start.

OMG, _Nirvana in Fire_ will totally eat your life, and it is SO WORTH IT!

Like Persona is great, but you'll need like 100 hours to play/watch it so. Yeah. Bit of a time sink.

I'm with you on Killing Eve! Everyone tells me I'll enjoy it and yes I'm sure I will. I just haven't got the emotional space for it now. Been returning back to old fixations/fandoms so ehh. I'm sure I'll find time for it later.

I hear you on The Untamed, which I did not pass by, and look at me now, having fallen for it so hard, obsessing about it for days on end...

Definitely for games: there's some games I know I'm likely to get addicted to. Not so much with media fandoms, although since I have been wishing I got more fired up about media recently, maybe I should make more of an effort to watch with people or have a community.
