open_on_sunday’s current prompt, stick.
William couldn’t bear Darla. She smiled sweetly like Cecily’s friends had, she made Dru scream, and she took Angelus’ attention when it was rightfully due to him.
It made it worse that he never heard her coming. She glided silently in her dainty boots, not stamping like that great Irish peasant. Darla always knew when he was trying to rile up Angelus, and since she liked him to hurt her instead of despised fledglings, she’d tell him. That William presumed to manipulate him infuriated the vain vampire.
Darla didn’t need to wield the stick herself. Angelus did it for her.
