Hurrah For Fetishes!

I had a great weekend with Miss Godfrey, despite wearing my new shoes to walk around cobbles for thirteen hours and learning painfully that I have gone up a shoe size. I don’t even know how, I AM NINETEEN I HAVE STOPPED GROWING.

Also, Dreamwidth codes! If you want ’em, I’ve got ’em, although I imagine most people who want a Dreamwidth account have one by now. I really must start posting over there.

Item three in this extremely lacking-in-proper-paragraphs post: I’m signing up for hp_darkfest! I had a really fun, creepy idea while on MSN with lavillanueva, and I want to write it. (Plus, melusinahp is lovely. Plus plus, I want to butter her up because I’m writing original fic involving a fetish club and I have no idea what I’m doing.) So YAY FOR DARKFEST! It has loads of amazing writers signing up, and I’m super excited. Even if I now have to search through the MOUNTAINS of archived discussion between Lindsay and I, looking for the plans for the fic.

I have found something in the search! Naturally, not what I was looking for: I wrote a sonnet about kink, ages ago. I don’t think I posted it – if I did, I failed at using the ‘poetry’ tag – so here is a sonnet titled HURRAH FOR FETISHES.

It’s a terrible title, but I like using ‘hurrah’ because it shows up in old school stories and/or Enid Blyton.

Hurrah for Fetishes!

Between bottoms, a love letter to kink:
Hair-pulling, bondage, they all make me grin.
Spanking is my most favourite, I think;
But giving up power’s always sweet sin.
We all like sex with people with power.
The one who... as it were, has the whip hand.
When he’s on top, in that intense hour,
He’s the most powerful man in the land.
Three cheers for begging, bruises and bitemarks!
For cages, collars and getting fucked hard.
For gags, for sounding, for anything dark!
For the existence of my bingo card!
Kink is spiritual. Also, SO DAMN FUN.
Even if your harsh dom won’t let you come!

I loved the sonnet ever so much! And sounding is something I feel the need to demand more of! I've only seen it in like three fics... and one of them was sounding with a wand, which I don't think counts. :)

I'm not always a huge fan of sounding, but it's a bit of a kink - mostly because lavillanueva's converted me. She wrote a great one called The Sound and The Fury.

I asked for the three words prompt. I wanted the poetry, but at the same time, I always seem to make it feel forced when I try to incorporate a longer prompt. The words I can pretty easily slip in. How about you? I've no idea how I want to handle this fest. I love writing dark fics, but I get affected by them pretty easily.

I'll have to check out The Sound and the Fury. Anything that alludes to Faulkner is worth reading in my books, especially when there's also penile insertions involved (am I the biggest pervert ever, or what? LOL).

Fair enough with the prompt thing - I asked for the poetry, but I'll be more likely to do it in a thematic way than actually incorporating the verse. Or I might be a naughty, naughty fest participant and switch to 'C - I have my own idea' instead.
