lokifanThat weird sound you just heard? In, like, China? Or Space Station 5? Yeah, that would be me squeeing over the latest Doctor Who.
1. Image of Cardiff that they use in Torchwood. REAL X-OVERLY-NESS.
2. CAPTAIN JACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
3. Jack flirting with Martha! And the cute refugee with Han Solo stubble! And the blue girl!
3b. Jealous!Doctor.
3c. Jack getting petulant about it - "can't I say hello to anyone?"
4. The proper Jack/Doctor talk. IT IS WHAT I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR.
5. Chan the blue girl, who was just amazing do.
5b. Chan the giggling and swearing do.
5c. Chan the unrequited love for their respective Time Lords and the parallels to Human Nature do.
6. 'Was someone kissing me?' He just woke up from something that should have been fatal, he's barely conscious, and he's flirting already. *loves*
7. Boys and their toys. I loved everyone in that bit.
8. Jack's grin and the hugging and the visiting Rose. Jack and Rose have love. I loved the whole thing the three of them had, that matey vibe.
9. THE MASTER!!! He's back! And he's hot! (I'm going to need some Master/Doctor slash. Last two Time Lords, sexing each other.)
10. The watch. Just so cool.
11. The Face of Bo's thing FINALLY getting dealt with.
12. The drums. The getting closer. The echoes. SO COOL.
13. The kid with the accent who's old enough to work.
14. The Doctor making irritable face when Martha and Captain Jack were being friendly.
15. The Doctor saying 'Master. I'm sorry.' Can barely tell you how much I loved, for some reasons that were sentimental and plot-related, and some that were dirtyfilthywrong.
Jack's face when the Doctor said he was 'wrong'. Didn't love it but it was such an emotional moment it gets an honourable mention.
I died so many times in this episode. I died when Jack arrived, I died when the Doctor admitted he ran away from Jack, I died over the giggly swearing from Blue, I died over "was somebody kissing me?". I died so many times I'm starting to feel like Jack.
In other news, how much of a bastard is the Doctor being lately? I was completely shocked by his treatment of the Family. An avowed pacifist doing something that was both pointless - they would have died anyway - and sadistic?! I thought 'OK, he's being affected by his recent humanity.' But he bloody left Jack behind! Now and then. He ran away from him because of his prejudice! Everyone else was dead - Jack would have starved without his space-hopper thing! He's just generally been a git lately, quite frankly. And his going off on Jack and Martha like that? Probably due to his instinct thing about how Jack's 'wrong' but still.
