New Who

I feel like I have a much clearer handle on Clara already, now that she doesn't need to be a mystery any more. And of course I have a soft spot for teachers, particularly secondary school teachers, even if the Ian & Barbara reference wasn't totally adorable.

We have a black love interest who will clearly be recurring, and they didn't kill off Journey Blue, so things are looking up a bit in that department. Having a queer WOC Companion would have had them looking up more, of course, and Journey Blue was really cool and the loss of a brother she fought beside would've made for some interesting story. I shall have to comfort myself with some Clara/Journey fic. I'm sorry she won't be joining Team TARDIS – especially as I love more than one Companion at once – but I must say I find the Doctor's dislike of soldiers very sympathetic, since I give them a bit of an instinctive side-eye myself.

That said? ( I do not like Twelve. Like at all really. )
