I’ve got some new friends so I thought I’d do this getting-to-know-you type meme! I will try to control its size but I’m doing a multi-fandom version of it.
Otherwise, my introductory post: I’m twenty-five, a woman, bi, and from London/the Home Counties. I teach English as a foreign language. I like reading and dancing and theatre and sparkles. I’m kinky IRL but not in a 24/7 kind of way. I’ve been in fandom almost ten years; I discovered it through Potter and HP is still my biggest fandom, though Buffy was much more my teenage obsession. I’m currently into superheroes, especially Marvel, and I love Gothic stories about teenage girls so Pretty Little Liars rocks my world. (Though not, shall we say, unproblematically.) I did English Lit at uni and I loooove literary analysis and meta.
Most of my friends are people I met through fandom (or mutual fandomy friends), which makes me very lucky and also changes my relationship with fandom, though I’m not quite sure how.
I’m very much the middle-class bohemian and lefty queer feminist. I don’t knit and I’m not a vegetarian but it’s really only a matter of time :)
Enemy ships tend to be my favourites, especially if the characters are literary parallels and especially especially if they used to be friends and/or have some kind of special connection and/or know each other well. Buffy/Faith, Harry/Draco, Ron/Draco, Angel/Spike, etc etc. I also tend to have a weakness for vulnerable, angry brunettes.
I write a lot of kinky porn but not solely that, and I read a lot outside that genre.
