Huh. I suppose I should've seen that coming since you've said you always like male characters better, but I'm a little surprised.
I do tend to write from the sub's POV more often than from the Dom's.
I write from the dom(me)'s POV slightly more often than the sub's. :) Maybe we just want to write about characters going on and on about how wonderful people who share our preferences are - I mean, in my preferred porn-writing style, my tops go on for bloody ever about how pretty and lovely and brave their subs are. Which is probably at least partly me having a little ego-stroke in the back. :)
