lokifanHow late am I? So late. But I love the pairings-as-exes meme, and anyway it distracts me from the pain of job hunting.
The one who seduced you, screwed you over, broke your heart in a million pieces, and laughed about it.
Snaco. So fantastic. So much hot, kinky, heartbreaking, intelligent, adorable writing and drawing. Such a rarepair :( YOU PAIN ME SNAPE/DRACO! YOU AND YOUR BRILLIANT PORTMANTEAU SHIP NAME!
Also, Peter/El/Neal, but that was the canon, really :(
The old flame you don't see very often any more but whom you still really enjoy getting together with for a few drinks and maybe a pleasant nostalgic romp.
Angel/Spike. It’s basically made entirely of my favourite tropes but... yeah, I haven’t read it for ages.
The mysterious dark one whom you used to sit up with talking until 3 AM at weird coffee houses and with whom you were quite smitten until you realized s/he really was fucking crazy.
Buffy/Faith. I still fucking love it, and yet, Buffy fandom, man. It seems all cool and meta-y and full of gifs and then everyone’s snarling over the state of Buffy Summers’ vagina or whether Spike likes blowjobs. The pairing is not super-crazy but it’s definitely the sexy yet dangerous one.
The one you spent a whole weekend in bed with and who drank up all your liquor and whom you'd still really like to get with again, although you're relieved s/he doesn't actually live in town
Weirdly, considering the characters, this has got to be Neville/Draco :) My gateway drug was this incredible long fic, and then I spent a week frantically tracking down Neville/Draco. But I am fairly okay with only writing a drabble or two...
The steady
Ron/Draco. Hot and lovely and can be written lots of different ways. Also, when I started writing it everyone was *incredibly* welcoming and lovely :D And continues to be so!
The alluring stranger whom you've flirted with at parties but have never gotten really serious with
All Tonks pairings. She is interesting and kinda cool and I have read hot stuff featuring her with Charlie and Bill and Ron and Pansy and Ginny and Fleur and Harry and the twins and Draco. She’s sort of my female Draco, in that I can read her with pretty much anyone. And yet... it never quite gets beyond flirtation. (Which is amply illustrated by that drabble set I did where she fucks each Weasley child in turn.)
The one you hang out with and have vague fantasies about maybe having a thing with, but ultimately you're just good buddies
Marauder fic in general, I think. I like James/Sirius and AnyMarauder/Regulus and there was that ill-advised one-night-stand over the Shoebox Project, but ultimately I’m a Trio Generation sort of girl :)
The one your friends keep introducing you to and who seems like a hell of a cool person except it's never really gone anywhere
I would say Snarry except Snarry squicks me. (No offence! I like Snaco, it’s not a moral judgmenet. It just irrationally squicks me.) The pairing that seems cool and never quite sticks for me is Ron/Pansy. I can totally see the appeal and I’ve read some stuff, dipped my toe in it, but somehow it’s never quite got beyond feeling gleeful if it’s a side-pairing in an H/D fic.
The one who's slept with all your friends, and you keep looking at them and thinking, "How the hell did they land all these cool people?"
Jack/Ianto. I mean, I know how they landed all these cool people. But still! WRITE ME JACK/JOHN, DAMN YOU.

Harry/Draco!!! I don’t do the OTP thing, but Harry/Draco is where I’ve spent by far the most time and where most of my flist comes from and I am always in the mood for a bit of H/D :)
The one you recently met at a party and would like to get to know better:
Rita/Hermione! Said party being Diacon.
The old flame that you wouldn't totally object to hooking up with again for a one night romp if only they'd clean up a bit:
Kingsley/Draco, or Kingsley/Narcissa. They’re titchy pairings, but the ones that came to mind for the ‘clean up a bit’ segment. Because Kingsley is hot and ambiguous and competent and powerful - and the Auror, the hero, the Minister. I like him with Narcissa because they can do some cool power-games stuff and he’s sort of light-side!Lucius and also it’s hot. I like him with Draco because it really lends itself to various sorts of authority-figure kink and also Draco being sort of helped out with his enormous fail.
I like them both! I just wish that basically everything not written by people on my flist didn’t make me feel sort of icky with its LOOK A SILENT BLACK MAN FUCKING A POSH BLONDE!!!-ness.
