All about reccing

Firefox has decided today would be a good day to fail at the ‘Restore Session’ button. I’ve recovered the majority of my tabs (~30 or so are gone forever, *sobs*) but even after restarting, there are fuckups. ‘Restore Session’ is there when I open Firefox, but it’s greyed out and all my actual tabs are gone. All the Restore options under ‘History’ are greyed out, whatever I do with Options, even though my History is still there. VERY FRUSTRATING and searching the wiki hasn’t helped so far.
GRRRR.
Okay, now that I’ve complained, I have two recs for you:
r_grayjoy has set up an Etsy shop filled with gorgeous things! Bracelets, earrings, rings and bookmarks, all of which are cheap and custom-made. There’s a post here with more details, but basically: want a bracelet in Hufflepuff colours with beads reading TONKS? Red and green with HD/DM? Something shiny in Slytherin colours? GET THEE TO THE ETSY SHOP. I helped r_grayjoy get her Snape/Black etc ones on during Diacon and can testify to their durability and real clasps :)
Secondly,creatore_magico just did a photoshoot of his girlfriend (not like that. Nobody’s naked) and it is ALL THE GORGEOUS. You can see some of the best shots here on LJ or on Deviant Art. The concept is ‘Recycle Girl’ - basically gorgeous model and using waste paper to advantage, so there’s a skip and a hottie in a newspaper fascinator. And it is AMAZING. I’m not art/photography-literate enough to explain why, exactly, but drazzi looks gorgeous and uses varying poses and expressions, and the angles are genius. I love all the contrasts - model/rubbish, red hair/black and white, the little hat vs the newspaper fascinator. SO SO GOOD.
Speaking of recs: I wish there was more reccing going on. It’s such a crucial part of fandom and there seems to be less of it in recent times. So I’m going to attempt to rec more myself, and to do it regularly - it should help me keep up with fandom, too. Undoubtedly there’ll be varying fandoms and pairings, but you’re all used to that by now :)
