Happy things... and Thatcher
Aug. 12th, 2010 11:54 pmMy laptop Sidney, after the virus of evil, had his charger go kaput. :( I was laptopless for DAYS, and have been using the downstairs computer. It is horribly slow, and also ‘the family computer’ so I felt weird about the whole thing. Plus the keyboard is awful and makes it really difficult to write.
I got Sidney back last night and I am SO HAPPY.
I’m also happy because I made it through the first round of the Harry/Draco LDWS! We’ll see if I make it through to round three – the competition is so fierce, OMG. Voting is open at the second round right now at
slythindor100 -- GO FORTH AND VOTE.
The third thing I’m happy about? The family is away. (Huzzah!) They all went on a last-minute holiday to a Greek island because my dad was desperately in need of a break. I kinda yearn for sea and sand, but it was definitely the right decision to stay. No fighting with them, plus FREEEEEEEEEDOM.
Saw my cousin today. He’s sixteen and a bit of a twat; I’m kind of waiting for him to grow out of it. I love him though, and he’s always been the cousin I get on with the best. He’s a sweetheart even if he’s arrogant: he’s in London because he’s looking after his great-uncle, out of the goodness of his heart. His great-uncle is lazy and yells a lot: I know that last because he took great exception to a girl calling his flat for Ivan, even after I explained that I’m his cousin not a Hot Older Woman. I’m really impressed: my poor cousin has been very, very bored and missing his girlfriend but still Super Stoic. It’s a shame he felt the need to grow the massive beard – seriously WHY – but still.
Hopefully he’ll grow out of the Thatcherism.
