Five things make a post

lokifan1. If you have an AO3 account, please go and fill in the AO3 census! It took me less than five minutes and definitely won’t take you more than ten. It’d be interesting - plus there is always very little demographic data on fandom and the stuff we have is all pretty old. So do fill it in!
I want a more modern link than this one when I have one of those snappish PLEASE STOP ERASING THE PARTICIPATION OF QUEER WOMEN IN M/M SLASH, SERIOUSLY THIS “STRAIGHT WOMEN APPROPRIATING QUEER EXPERIENCE” THEORY OF FANDOM IGNORES THE MAJORITY-QUEER-FEMALE REALITY type conversations. Slash has its problems, but my irritation at being told I am fetishising or appropriating queer experience: extreme. My irritation with the “straight housewives/teenagers” framing of slashers is also pretty extreme; this happens even in academic papers basedlargely partly on a miscitation. The numbers at the link are pretty solid: of a number of surveys (each fairly small, biased, etc) the smallest percentage of respondents who are queer was 37%; the largest was 84.5%, and only one showed queer respondents to be less than the majority. So yeah.
2. I have finished season 2 of Glee! I definitely like it better now! The fire of fannishness has not been lit, but you never know! Puck is my boo, Rachel is awesome, Mercedes is glorious, and I care about Kurt after all!
3. Legend of Korra is back! Hurray! The lack of Lin is hurting my soul, but I love the family-dynamics stuff between Tenzin and his siblings, Tenzin is brilliant, and Korra is adorable. (OMG the bit whereshe has to open the spirit portal and she’s like OKAY BETTER PUNCH THIS THING is just so adorable. Way to punch all your problems into submission, Korra. ) MORE ASAMI. MORE KORRA AND ASAMI DOIN’ STUFF. Also Mako and Korra having a difficult relationship is nice, maybe Mako won’t be boring this series.
I am finally going to watch Avatar the Last Airbender. EXCITED.
4. I’m reading a great dual-pov book with ghostly lesbians and threesomes and an ancient heroine and quite a lot of horror in it. It is fabulous. Rituals: Rhapsody of Blood by Roz Kaveney, guys. Review forthcoming in my monthly books-round-up in a week or so.
5. So I have this fic almost-nearly-finished, like 200 words to go, and yet I’ve been horribly stuck for weeks. It’s about Fleur getting Floo-called at work by Bill, and also their boy Draco. And Fleur only has this tiny head-sized Floo, and Draco has to keep his head in there and narrate what’s happening (it embarrasses him; everyone is turned on by this) while Bill fucks him and Fleur wanks to it and Draco looks up at her and they both want to touch. I don’t know about the execution but I love the idea, not least because it means there’s a specific connection and relationship and variety of sexual goings-on happening between each pair. That’s what I want from all threesome fic, and I’d write more of it if I was better at making it happen, I think.
HELP ME WHAT IS THE TITLE. WHAT WHAT WHAT.
So far my best idea is some kind of “at my beck and call” pun (because calling, you see, and also Draco is clearly their sub and it’s a nice present from Bill to Fleur) and that is just not good.
