Top Fives meme answers: non-fannish

Here are my answers to the non-fannish Top Fives you guys gave me! Sorry it’s so beyond late. Skip the first one if you don’t want to see me being embarrassingly consumerist.
inglevine requested my top five fashion designers, but due to my ignorance I’m instead going to do my top five labels.
Now I am an underemployed mid-twenties girl so, despite the unsettling proportion of my budget spent on clothes, I must mostly limit myself to ASOS own-brand dresses, New Look jeans and heels, Dorothy Perkins jewellery and Topshop underwear and socks. BUT I STILL HAVE MY FAVOURITES, OH YES I DO. Firetrap and Look from London and Traffic People and Motel TAUNT ME, omg.
5. Sam Ubhi. I actually don’t own any of her jewellery myself but I waaant it, and the Sam Ubhi necklace I bought my friend Violet one Christmas was a definite success as a gift - I saw her wear it quite a bit :D I just love the charm-bracelet piling on of gorgeous, unusual little pendants.
4. Desigual. I have one Desigual skirt and it is my asymmetrically-hemmed baby. I have an immense weakness for complicated prints, bright colour, and graffiti-style art. I am not a girl who generally dresses to blend in so I loooove Desigual - their stuff is all Statement Pieces but in a casual style, and so gorgeous. I even forgive their habit of putting their brand name all over everything, and that’s what made me break up hard with GioGoi despite their creating an awesome little black skirt of shortness.
3. Religion. An east London label (gotta love local) that does great printed tops and interesting cuts and silhouettes; there’s so much attitude to their stuff, and it tends to translate daytime to clubland really well.
2. Pour Moi. I do not believe in basic simples for underwear, especially not bras. I will compromise for skin-coloured t-shirt bras that exist to make white T-shirts non-obscene, but otherwise I want lace and embroidery and the odd bit of bedazzling, and Pour Moi is my go-to lingerie label.
1. Irregular Choice. I actually own no Irregular Choice shoes but I’ve been lusting after them for six years and I am going to finally get myself a pair the second I have another regular class. I just. Their stuff is so cute and whimsical and stuffed with fantastic little details to draw the eye and make things fun. My philosophy of fashion is that every outfit, for work or play, should have at least one quirky/fun/unusual/sexy/show-stopping element -- so like, all standard black but with my tropical-parrot-print shoes, or my gold robot necklace to go with a simple work dress, or my peacock tights under it. I have some dramatic tops etc and I love them, but I am seriously into statement accessories and fabulous heels. IRREGULAR CHOICE PWNS MY SOUL.
twillery asked for my top five writing/drawing instruments:
5. The actual quill my friend
nixied gave me for Christmas a couple of years ago. It’s not easy to write with but it’s SO PRETTY.
4. Bic biros. A standard for a reason! When my dad was an undergrad he tested a bunch of biro brands and found that Bic was the fastest and therefore best for finals. I don’t know that my dad was able to convince any girls to go out with him but now he’s married and also the chairman of a university history department so clearly Bics worked out for him.
3. Papermates. My other favourite brand of biro. They make me happy, not least because they have two little moulded hearts on them.
2. My set of panda mini highlighters. Each colour has a panda head as the lid, each with a different expression. MADE OF ADORABLE.
1. My inexplicable pink biro labelled ‘West Yorkshire Police Authority’. I don’t even know.
twillery asked for my top five sweet things to eat:
5. White chocolate Maltesers. You can’t argue with these, they’re fabulous. Perfect combination of biscuit and delicious white chocolate.
4. Twisters. They’re this great lolly of lemon and lime and a red centre and it’s all nostalgia and good memories and yummy. My last one was at the London Expo :)
3. YooMoo frozen yoghurt. The supermarket stuff is kinda meh but I love their little places where you fill a bowl with different flavours and pay according to how it weighs. Fun and delicious and it’s been waaaay too long since I went.
2. Dark berries. Raspberries especially, but also blackberries, strawberries, red grapes. They’re a gorgeous combination of tart and sweet and go very well with…
1. Sorbet. I LOVE IT SO MUCH. I am a big fan of fruit flavours and both-sweet-and-tart and yes. Last week I had a tub of raspberry sorbet and a double punnet of berries for dinner.
deathlydragon suggested my top five Eurovision predictions but since that’s now tragically out of date I’ll do my top five Eurovision songs this year:
5.
La Mia Citta, from Italy. Her live singing was… not great, particularly at the beginning, but she’s so bedazzled! Sparkly gladiator with charisma = way to hook me for Eurovision.
4.
Hunter of Stars, from Switzerland. This was genuinely a decent song, I reckon, if embarrassingly hipster. Lots of fun, and I liked their take on this year’s whistling trend :)
3.
Moustache, from France. It’s a song about how they want moustaches! HOW CAN YOU ARGUE WITH THAT. Miss Godfrey, one of my BFFs - she hosted the Eurovision party I attended this year, and she’s so passionate about Eurovision that she taped Finland’s 2008 entry over her christening video - was deeply bitter that they didn’t win.
2.
Rise Like A Phoenix, from Austria. Conchita is a really good and charismatic singer, and the song is super-atmospheric. Love it.
1. The Twelve-Point Song, from the Eurovision hosts. Sorry Conchita, but this is the song I’ve listened to most since Eurovision :D I just. My favourite thing about Eurovision is how enthusiastic we all get and how much we embrace the ridiculousness and how those two things complement each other rather than ever contradicting each other. Also the shiny shoes we wear. PERFECTION.
