Being stuck inside a coffin under the sea for three months, to Angel’s mind, should have yielded profound insight into the human condition. He’d always thought of himself as more philosophical than most demons. Burningly aware of how much more erudite Spike was, of how Darla become literate while he drank away his education, Angelus had sought to appear contemplative and intelligent. Angel tried to be those things. And being under the sea was practically a religious retreat!
But he’d just had a bunch of hallucinations and counted fish. Being stuck in a box didn’t allow for thinking aside it.
