Saturday recs post: here comes trouble

It’s still Saturday in most of the world! And I’ve finally managed to rec some Sherlock I’ve been meaning to rec for ages, as well as some of the completely fantastic Thor/Avengers fic I’ve been hoovering up.

Harry Potter art

The colours of this are so so gorgeous, and the art is beautifully done. And I just love this - daddy!Draco asleep with his ickle cousin asleep on his chest. And it’s through a camera lens, which is such a creative way of implying EXTRA ADORABLE: Harry finding his boyfriend and godson cuddled up together and being like WHERE IS MY CAMERA.

Thor fic

The Trade by lies_d. Thor/Loki, ~8 000, NC-17; mildly dubious consent.

SO HOT. Thor comes home from a quest with a magical book that Loki wants, and Loki ends up trading a fuck for every page of it. It’s surprisingly sweet, actually - I especially love the characterisation of Thor, who starts fumbling and unable to please Loki and just seeking his own pleasure now he’s got this chance. But things develop and change over the course of a bunch of sizzling sex scenes. UNF. And then a happy ending.

You’ll A-Soon Be Growing Up Strong by coneycat_fic. Loki & Sleipnir, ~2000 words, PG.

Mare!Loki giving birth to Sleipnir, and their first days together. This is so adorable and incredibly atmospheric, and it’s all about them being actual horses out in the grasslands. Sleipnir is an actual horse, and his happy ending involves heading off with other horses while Thor and Loki have this perfect little bro moment.

Incredibly beautiful, well-done pencil sketch of Thor holding Loki up to him by the hair. Intense expressions and long eyelashes and Loki clutching at Thor’s chest and unf unf unf.

IT IS SO CUTE. GO AND CHECK IT OUT. LOKI LOVES HIS BIG BRO AND THOR LOVES HIS LITTLE BRO. And also it implies that bb!Loki’s adorable idealisation of him and Thor fighting together when they were grown-ups was what Thor decided should be the actual design for their helmets when they actually grew up. And that is incredibly cute.

Avengers fic

Semaphore by DevilDoll. Steve/Tony, NC-17, ~40 000 words.

Steve/Tony fic that begins with Tony and Pepper in a relationship, which ends in a way that respects both Pepper and their relationship. (And throughout they retain their bond, in this really lovely way.) It’s just long and gorgeous and involving and it has great ensemble-Avengers moments and crazy!Tony and Steve trying to deal with his losses and excellent smut. HUZZAH.

A fantastic Steve voice and great Avengers moments and Charles/Erik implications and also Steve losing his virginity.

Sherlock fic

The Rise and Fall of LOLSherlock by Anon. Gen, G, ~1500 words.

I am such a sucker for epistolary fic, and this is modern epistolary fic: John’s blog entries with a ‘LOLSherlock’ tag - basically where he bitches about Sherlock’s fails - and comments from the whole cast. There are lovely character moments - Molly’s liking for spiders, Sherlock’s bitching at Anderson’s grammar, Mrs Hudson using Mrs Turner’s log-in instead of having her own account.

There Is Nothing As Deceptive As Obvious Facts by koshartu. Sherlock/John, PG-13.

Fic done in screenshots! Sherlock puts up an ad on Craiglist for someone to lose his virginity with, and John replies. Very funny, and the bonus screenshot of a message from Moriarty is hilarious.
