Draco: Did you know that in this other reality - the reality Scorpius saw into - I was Head of Magical Law Enforcement? Maybe this room will be mine soon enough.
LOL, as I remember, Harry wasn't too reluctant to give it up. :) I so want to see this show again (possibly with the original cast), but there's absolutely no chance of that. Oh, well, at least I got there once! (And I think I might have just seen the best possible Ron for all generations to come anyway, Paul Thornley is great!)
They've announced the new cast, who will be taking over as of 24th May. I think Draco and Rose are staying the same, but the rest of the primary roles are changing.
I know and I hope the new cast will give the characters credit they deserve, but I'm sorry for everyone who won't get to see Paul's interpretation of Ron - "bloody brilliant" to paraphrase the character.
I'm going to be so sad to lose the current cast, especially Jamie, Noma, and both Scorpiuses, but I'm sure the new ones will be fab. Speaking of the cast: did you ever watch Being Human? Because rabbit_says recently had the revelation that Alex Price, aka Draco, also played Gilbert! The sad 80s ghost who liked the Cure and thought fun was "so bourgeois"!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is there a good way to get tickets for Aug 29 or 30? I'm headed to Dublin for LeakyCon Aug 31 and I'm wondering about a stop in London beforehand. I want to see Andrew Scott's Hamlet. But hmm, Cursed Child.
I saw Hamlet last night and I would definitely recommend it =) I was sitting next to some huge, burly guy in his 50's who was in tears by the end! As for CC tickets, it's a case of getting lucky with returned tickets (on the day), the Friday Forty (the week before) or paying upwards of £100 per part. They don't do performances on Tuesdays, but Wednesdays is both parts in one day so the 30th is your only possibility. The date is showing as sold out through both of the official providers, but it's worth checking on Friday evenings/Saturday mornings as the people who win the Friday Forty regularly return the tickets they had for later performances.
As llaeyro said, it's about the Friday Forty and that. However, these tickets were returns, and cost £200 overall, £100 a part. You actually stand a decent chance of getting returns, especially if you join the early-morning queue, for around £140 (£70 a part) - a friend of mine has seen it something like eight times mostly by doing that. It does require willingness to check the site often/stand outside the box office from around 8 a.m. (9 a.m is often enough right now, from what I hear, but the summer will probably be worse.) It's SO amazing, Cocoa, you should see it!!!!!! But I'm biased by both loving it ridiculously and wanting to talk about it with you :) If you do stop off here, I'd love to get coffee. Or go and see CC again :)
Ummm...Cursed Child together on Wednesday August 30, if we can get tickets? Maybe? Haven't settled on this for sure yet, but am checking on the details and it might happen?
I finally managed to get tickets for April 2018, but then last week my bestie nabbed tickets for the last week of April this year, just before they switch the cast! They cost us an arm and an ankle, but for me personally, it's worth it to see the originals. I'm still rather in shock and disbelief over it, it hasn't really sunk in that I'm finally going.
By the way, I'm guessing you didn't get my e-mail the other month. Want to try hitting me up at scrungefullocks@gmail.com?
Oh yay!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah, me and my friend paid £200 each, but £100 per part for something I love this much was absolutely, absolutely worth it. Especially because we stagedoored afterwards - and it was the first performance back for them after the Oliviers! - so we got to see Noma again and congratulate her on her win, and also tell her how much Hermione means to us and how we'd come again basically to see her (and Jamie) before the switch. I love them allllll.
I AM SO EXCITED THAT YOU GET TO SEE IT OMGGGGGGGG IT'S SO SO SO WONDERFUL
That's what we paid, but my friend enjoyed it so much that she paid another £250 to go and see the original cast again yesterday! I would have gone with her again but I can't justify paying that much when I've already seen it and I owe people money =( We stagedoored too, and got a load of signatures and a selfie with 'Albus' and spent far too much on merchandise *g*
P.S in response to your comment above, nope, never saw Being Human, unfortunately!
I'm sooo jealous you got to see this original cast again! Like, properly green with envy :)
As Brits we're very lucky to have had relatively easy access to see it even once (that's what I keep telling myself when I can't get Friday 40 tickets anyway...grumble, grumble).
There are rumours that Jamie P and Noma might sign up to the roles when it opens on Broadway. If they do then I'd definitely see it there when I go over next year.
