Really it’s on me. I should’ve known better. I was like “a woman protagonist! Not only that, a mother! And she’s using a combination of Trevor’s whip and Sypha’s magic, that’s really cool -- ”
Ah. Nope. Of course not. Once again Castlevania has introduced a really cool, compelling female character only to fridge her within 10 minutes. It’s EXACTLY the same thing. And now we’re gonna have such a standard-issue, boring protagonist I can hardly bring myself to write the words: a cute young boy who became an angry man because he watched his mother get murdered in front of him.
Ugggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. It’s SO BORING.
I know it’s an adaptation! But they make choices about what and how to adapt. Come on, Castlevania, you can do so much better.
