My campus is covered in rabbits. That’s a cool thing, especially right now: in spring, the place is covered in LITTLE BABY RABBITS. So cute!

Only Miss Godfrey saw a rabbit eating pepperoni off someone’s discarded pizza. Clearly, the rabbits are getting a taste for meat. And there are thousands of them; if they get together, they will kill us all. None of this is helped by my childhood rereading of The Thousand Eyes of Night, a Robert Swindells book in which the neighbourhood bully is killed by rats possessed by aliens.

I told bewarethesmirk about the meat-eating bunny. Her response was to point out that zombie rabbits would be even scarier. Now I am trying to come up with an escape plan in the event of the zombie apocalypse reaching the campus bunny population.

I'm sorry, all I can do is squee at the cute of the mental image of little bunnies running around~!

You get bunnies and my girlfriend gets ducks running around on campus. Animals just love you guys~! :P

The bunnies are indeed adorable! I can see five of them from my window right now - there's a baby rabbit and a mummy (?) rabbit by the lake. :D

I wouldn't trust kids with chickens! I saw a bunch of girls half strangling and trying to ride chickens. I have no idea where their parents were, but the poor chickens looked pathetic. They just gave up with the flapping and trying to get away eventually.

Oh jeez, it's like The Birds but with bunnies. I've always thought having too many bunnies in urban areas was weird anyway - why don't dogs eat them? what is wrong with dogs nowadays? - but now I'm even more concerned.

See! SEE! At least someone understands. And YES. Where are the dogs? My cat brings back rabbits that must weigh two-thirds what he does, and he gets them through the cat-flap! Why can't the labradors stop them?

...Okay see now I'M even more concerned. Because maybe the dogs don't eat the meat-eating rabbits because they're evil. THE DOGS KNOW SOMETHING WE DON'T KNOW.

*grins* When I went to the University of Essex for a year, the place was over run with bunnies in the spring. Then came the slaughter. They'd send out guys with guns. So a zombie bunny apocalypse might be more likely than you think... ba bah bum...

LMAO. Yeah, I'm at UEA, so we're close - we play Essex at lots of sports one day a year and we usually win. :) Essex are clearly evil! Baby bunnies killed by men with guns! That's so sad, as well as leading to a zombie bunny apocalypse! Although I suppose the guns mean Essex is well prepared.

Killer baby bunnies are the scariest creatures in the universe! Have you noticed they're gathering in hostile groups? I'm positive they're planning something. Too many students are already absent from the lectures. You should be very, very afraid...

I won't be able to leave my room when I get back (tomorrow!).

Ok, ok, ok. Escape plan. We'll need raw meat to throw at the bunnies as a distraction, an empty lecture theatre to lure them into (maybe we should use some bleeding lecturers as bait?) and someone brave enough to close the door once we have them all inside.
Failing that, we'll need an army tank.
Or a wand. Will bring mine.
